These 5 Simple Steps Will Help to Make your Business Look More Professional

Source

Building an online business often means starting from scratch.

You won’t have an IT department who can set up your email or even a design guru who can create a logo for you either.

This is understandable, but there are a few things that you can do to make everything easier on yourself.

#1 Have a Dedicated Phone Number

Having a dedicated phone number will really help your business. If you continually give out your personal phone number, then you may never know when a client is ringing, and this can make it harder for you to be professional.

If you want to work around this then you may want to buy a separate mobile phone. You might even want to look into a VOIP system too.

When you do, you can easily route all of your devices under a single number and this will really help you to be more professional.  You can also add a Predictive Dialer to help find the best calls as well.

#2 Get a PO Box

Again, it’s so important that you separate the professional from the personal. A PO box will help you to have a mailing address for your customers and you won’t have to worry about giving away where you live either.

This is especially useful if you run your small business online. If you do have a local store, then you’ll want to get registered with Google Business.

When you do, your company address and name will show up at the top when someone searches for you and this will really work in your favor.

#3 Dress the Part

Just because you are in charge of your small business doesn’t mean that you can dress whatever way you want.

You need to make sure that you maintain a standard of professionalism and you also need to make sure that you wear the appropriate clothing too.

If you are dealing with clients quite a lot then it may be a good idea for you to invest in an ID card holder too.

#4 Get a Domain Name

You need to choose a great domain name because if you don’t then your customers might not remember you.

A lot of companies will give you the chance to set up a free domain name but when you do, you will need to have a long or wordy URL that contains the hosting company’s name as well.

This is the last thing that you want because it makes you look unprofessional and your customers will see right through it. When choosing your domain name, you need to keep it short and sweet.

People are far more likely to remember a domain name that is simple when compared to one that is overly long or complicated.

#5 Email Account

Sure, your Gmail address is fine for emailing work colleagues or even friends, but when you send emails from your company you want them to look professional.

The best way for you to do this would be for you to match it with your domain name, or even take out a package deal with your hosting provider.

What are you doing to make your business look more professional?
