Look and Feel

First you need to ensure the area around your product is looking good. Whether it is standing on a table, or up against a wall.

Products differ, but your imagination can do the work.

Make it look inviting, ensure those who are looking at it can perhaps see it in a working environment or spruce up the area with your branding.

Dynamic gift flags can be a good idea. As can media walls and all things similar.

Ensure nothing detracts from the product itself, it is all too easy to throw all sorts of decorative items at the area but ensure the product is the showcase.

The Package

Sometimes the product needs to be sold with packaging. There are countless items out there that need to be sold with something surrounding them.

Whether plastic or cardboard. This is important because it needs to be attractive. Your packaging can be changed, especially when only at exhibition stage but remember first impressions count.

So although the packaging may not be your highest priority it is still extremely important and can be the difference between a great first impression or someone having to struggle to get over the packaging.

Demonstrate

Try to give examples of how your product works. This may not always be possible if the product cannot be reused or if you aren’t in the right environment.

In this situation think about recording the product in action and playing it on a TV. At least this way people can see the product doing what you say it does.

Of course, this totally depends on the product, but without a live example it is the next best thing and can potentially get you noticed far better that without.

Who Are They Investing In

Remember, people aren’t just investing in your product, they are investing in you too. This is supremely important.

If you are looking to sell your product to consumers, then come across as someone who knows the trade and knows why the product is needed.

If you are approaching investors a different tact is needed. You will need to show business acumen and know your numbers inside and out.

Your product needs to be good, sure.

But you need to be better. Especially at an exhibition where you are directly selling your product yourself instead of in a store or online.

So what are you doing to exhibit your product to potential customers?
